Two posts in one day.
But then again it has been a day of good news. I am so doing the happy dance. DH wants me to sell it so that I can split the winnings so to speak. In your dreams baby. lol
A few of my online scrappy pals have asked me what I had to do for the scraproom comp that I won over at the appleyard so I thought I re post my enteries for each challenge rather than send them all on a hunt for them through past posts of which you all know there are heaps.lol
The first challenge was to do a double pager about how our areas are at the moment and what plans we have for them. So I took out the camera and snapped some pics of my handy dandy kitchen bench in action and some areas of my storage too.
This is a closer look at the left side. As you can see from the middle pic my bench gets a good work out on the weekends as does my family room floor where some of my other goodies sit.lol
This is the right side. The pics are of my storage in a shared spare bedroom with dh and his computer/music stuff.
A close up of my plan. I hopefully get an island bench or bench high buffet to scrap at and have it a part of my family room.
Just a close up of my journaling or some of it and a tip for trying to do a lot of strip journaling. Don't start to chop it all up at some rediculous hour of 12.00 at night. Took me over an hour to do and if I left it and it got messed up it would of been fun tryingto sort it all out again.NOT!
The second challenge was to revamp our ribbon storage and scrap it.

As I am happy with the way it is I just scrapped it as it is.
The third was to alter something to use in our spaces. This is my button box which is only a 1/4 full if I'm lucky.lol
The box was given to me after my Nan died and was made by either her Dad or my Grandad out of old drink crates. I wanted to try and keep an old world look to it so just did the lid. I did it in the colours of my first page too as if I do get my own space it will probably be in the mint/cream colours.
The fourth challenge was to scrap a page about our favorite colour and mine is purple. I did this pageafter attending a class taught by Emily Falconbridge and was trying out the freestyle look but dont think I pulled it of.
As you may be able to read in the journaling purple is my favorite but it is something I don't wear alot or use alot in my scrapping. It just is and has been since I was little.
Challenge five we had to sort out our embellies and scrap it.
As with my ribbons they are pretty much sorted out. Oh and I do know I've left the second l of.lol
The last was a free choice challenge and I decided to stick to the scraproom theme and scrapped my stacks of pizza boxes awaiting to go into albums.
I have used my new 7 Gypsies journaling stamp heaps since this page and just love it.
Well there are my enteries again.
I would like to thank Dawn and Kelly over at the appleyard for a wonderful comp. I've had so much fun doing my pages and checking out the enteries each week from the other girls. Everyone did some great stuff.
I would also like to thank everyone for their congrats too. I so can't wait to set up my new storage space, sort out my stuff and most probably go out and buy some new things to fill it up.lol
Thanks for stopping bye and any comments and till next time happy scrapping.

Got some news that I so have to share.
I've been a part of the Scrapapple scraproom challenge competition over the past six weeksand I have not long found out that I have won it. I will soon be the owner of a $4oo Maple Lane storage system. I am so going to have myself some fun.

Pages to share and a story to tell.
I'll start with the pages first. As usual I've been happy scrapping away.
This first page is for the photo chal over at CIS. We get given tips on taking photos then get to have a play around with using the tips, picking out the best ones and scrap a page with them.
This month we had some great tips on taking landscape shots. Making use of the line of sight, forground interest and rule of thirds methods.
On mother's day we went out to Fremantle for lunch at Kalis's then had a walk up to the Roundhouse where I had a play with the tips. The pic of the fishing boat harbour in this page was my favorite one and I included a few others that were taken on the day.
I'm not too sure if it shows up on the close up pic a lot but I've gone over the red in the swirls on the Dream Street paper with dimensional magic.
You can check out the other pages in the gallery at CIS here.
I scrapped Asher and her toothless grin for the Therapy make believe masters comp. We had to do a double about a special moment.
My journaling strips which I had to move as one of the ones near the top got lost somewhere along the way and I didn't notice it till I re read it when it was posted over at Therapy. So it is wrong here but have changed it. lol

I've been doing alot of the doodled borders lately and this one is one of my latest favs. Thanks Charm. Loved it on the b'day card you gave me and thought I'd give it ago. I also have had this paper from Karne Foster stashed for just this layout.

You can check out the other doubles here
This is my page for the last week of the Beyond the blue challenge over at Em. We had to scrap our life motto.

My lss has got in some new Cosmo Cricket papers and couldn't resist them when I went down the scrap on Friday.
This page is for chal 3 of the 123 chal cc. We had to use a tip from CIS, mixed alphas and stripes.
I used Liz's tip on stamping on alpha's it seems to have been a popular tip.
The pics are of Asher pointing out stuff in Craigs car. He entered a car stereo and asked if I could scrap a page about what is in his car.
I used up some of my growing stash of MME papers for this page and for the next.
I once again chatted with the girls over at Scrap Divas on Friday night after plans for dinner changed. I had fun chatting with all the girls and loved the challenges. This one is for challenge 1 we had to use white card, blue papers and include handstiching.

I had fun doing up the butterfly on this and adding the gliz to Asher's face.
Challenge 2 was to use three or more tags and some frames. I pulled out a Crate paper die cut sheet and used some of the strips and tags to make the photo mat and added the two frames as well. The second one I cut in half.
The photo is of Craigs brother Gareth and Asher a few years back one xmas night jamming together on her pianos.
As to what else has been happening

1. Went to the craft fair on Saturday and caught up with Carole Janson and Alli Patternson. I spent some money on more clear stamps to add to my collection. Some of them which I have already used.

2. I've had a page of Asher put up on the scrap the girls site.

http://scrapthegirls.blogspot.com/

3.I've still to take pics of my two cjs that have come home. Will try and do it this weekend.

Oops I nearly forgot my story.

My six year old decided that she and her friend were going to come over to our house and play after school and walked home.

Forgetting that

- I was working today and nobody was home

- She was being picked up by day care

- and that her friends Mum had no idea of the plans at all.

In their six year old wisdom these things didn't matter so they got their school bags and walked out of school and home to our place, using the crossing guard mind you. Lucky for them and for us we live directly opposite the school, I can acutally see the door to Asher room from my front door. While they were waiting at my front door, daycare turned up to collect Asher and when she wasn't there knowing that we lived over the road pulled into and checked our place, talked Asher and her friend into getting on the bus, dropped friend of at the school office then headed of to daycare. Meanwhile friends mum was begining to panic as she hadn't walked over to where she usually parks the car. Needless to say that when dh got to daycare to pick up Asher and heard of her adventures he wasn't happy and she was in trouble big time. I get a call at work from dh telling me what had happened and I'm thinking OMG. I then called friends mum just to make sure that they got her from the office. I was so glad to hear those few words "we have her"

Add to this a staff meeting after work that I totally forgot all about so my day at work was longer than normal and when I do get home dd races for the front door, opens it and the cat runs out and dh and I spend the next 10mins trying to catch a run away cat. All that when I all wanted to do was come home, have a shower and veg out here with a coffee or two.

Anyway thanks for making it ths far. Thanks for popping by and comments you may leave and as usual till next time happy scrapping.

They are finally out
After a month and a half of being wobbly Asher's two front teeth are finally out, with a little help from the school dentist.lol
No matter how much wiggling we did they just wouldn't come out and seeing as the new ones are already coming through we needed the baby ones out.She was getting a little upset when the dentist started using the needle but nothing that some stickers and scrappy stuff for her didn't fix. I've got a scrapnut in the making.lol
And for some more news Jodee over at Arty Pants has got the forum up and running. Pop and over and check it out if you want to that is.
Now onto my pages.
This is my page for the May 123 challenge I got it in just in time before the fun of the cyber crop.
The pic is of Asher having fun with a bubble wand she just had to have on one of our trips out to the markets.
Lots of Basic Grey which I'm loving at the moment.
We had to include some transerancies on our page and seeing as I've not got any here as yet I made my own with some paint, satmp and acetate.
This is my page for the first challenge over at Therapy for the make believe master comp.
Yet again more Basic Grey papers and my second love at the moment those journaling strips.
The pics are professional ones taken by Gotcha photographers. They do the round of the shopping centers.
You can check out the other pages here.

Close up pic of the journaling.
I need to work on trying to get better pics of my pages I think. Whenever I take the close ups the colour always goes of a bit.

You can check out the other pages here.

This is my last page for the scraproom challenge over at the Apple yard. It was a free choice for the last one and I decided to keep it a scrappy theme so scrapped my stacks of pizza boxes waiting to go into albums.

Yet again more Basic Grey. I also had a play with my new toy. A 7 Gypsies journaling stamp.

You can check out the other pages here.

2. I've got some yummy mail coming from Buzz and Bloom. I read on their blog that they were releasing their new range on the 21st so posted a comment saying that I couldn't wait to see it and that they couldn't have picked a better day to release it, my birthday and they sent me out a birthday pressent.

3. The craft fair is happening this weekend and I hope to try and catch up with Carole Janson who is coming over for it. I so can't wait.

Well I think that's about all from me for now so as usual thanks for stopping by andfor any comments and until next time happy scrapping.

Big pic and page share ahead
You guessed it this little scrap nut has been busy yet again. I'll get to the pages in a little bit.
Today for mother's day we popped into see Craigs mum for a while, where she loved her fridge magnet I made for her, silly me forgot to get a pic. I'll try and get one later. Then it was of into Fremantle for lunch at Kalis and the of for a bit of a walk to try and get some pics for the photography chal over at CIS. We need to try our hand at getting some landscape shoots and try as I might trying to get some good ones without a whole heap of bodies around was so hard as it was packed. I think I managed to get a few though on the walk up to the round house.
How could I not take pics of Asher while the camera was out.lol This 1 of my favs from the day was taken as she was running back towards me on the way back to the car. I pretty much held up the camera and snapped. So love the smile she has on her face.
This is another fav. It was taken in the round house. She was in one of the cells looking out the window.
And another of her being the goofy girl she is. We had a great day out and it was made even better by the Dockers winning their game today. We got to watch half of the game at my parents place on the way home from Fremantle where I gave mum her angel frame which she loved and then we went home durring half time.
Now here come the pages. Hope you manage to stay around for them all.lol
This page I did for a challenge set by Jode over at Divas. We had to scrap five reasons about someone or people special in our lives and how could I not scrap My man and My girl. We also had to use 3 forms of distressing, journaling strips and some form of sewing.

Close up pic of the journaling and the sewing french knots on the lace.

This is my page for the Apple yard scraproom chal this week. We had to sort and scrap our embellie storage. Seeing as mine are pretty much sorted as much as I can do at the moment I scrapped how they are stored. I am loving the blush range of Basic Grey at the moment. I've been digging into my stash heaps lately that I may need to go and get a top up.lol

If you can read my journaling you will see that I've got quite a few stackable containers stashed on my overloaded shelf. Oh and I do realise that I left an L out of the title. Didn't notice it until I popped it into the Apple gallery. Argh I used some crate paper scraps on this page as well as a mix of Heidi Swap and Basic Grey letters.

This is my page for the Em 12 week challenge. We need to scrap about something we struggle with and for the moment with me it is my weight.
I am so loving journaling strips at the moment as if you can't tell.lol More crate paper here with some Heidi Swap, Basic Grey and Provocraft letters too.
On Friday night I poped in on some of the chat for the CIS cyber crop before popping out for dinner with the girls from work. Thanks for the fun and laughs over the weekend girls and the great challenges as usual Jolene. The theme for this cyber crop was a low cost one and I had fun doing all of the challenges.

For the first challenge we had to do a page using 1 patterned paper or 1 cardstock, a hand cut title and a handmade embellie of some sort. I had popped out to Stephs on the Friday and got myself some of the new Dream Street papers. So yummy. This is the first page in my album I'm going to put together with pages of Reenie. I did this one 8.5 by 11 but I am going to try out something a bit different for this album. When I did the class with Emily Falconbridge a few weeks back she was saying that she has a 12 by 12 album and she scraps whatever size she feels like and pops it all into the one album. So I'm going to try it out for Reenies album and for Asher's scrapped pages too. Love this pic of our newest member of the family. At one time there I thought that she would jump into the bath with Asher and the toys.

For the title I hand drew and hand cut it. I'm not too sure if I've done alot of hand drwan titile before but I think I may just do more. For the handmade embellie I made a calico flower.

And using some of my making memories stamps I made my own journaling spots.

This is my page for challenge 2. For this one we had to try and keep out pages to under $7 and have a stamped title. Pics are of Asher having fun in the frogs room at daycare.

All up this page came too $3 so way under the limit so to speak. Some more of my new Dream Street papers. I just brought the two peices of this one but I may just get some more. lol

Challenge three was a sketch one using another of Jolene great sketches. We also had to use a mixed letter title of some sort. These pics are of our first family holiday a few years back now. So can't wait for the next one.

I had so much journaling that I wanted to put on the page that is just grew from the small spot in the sketch on the bottom right to right up the side. I was going to cull some of it to fit into the sketch more but I really wanted to keep it all in as the journaling is about some little things that aren't in pics so to speak.
For challenge three we also had to make a card from the scraps and seeing as I hadn't made my mothers day cards yet I made these. Both Mum's loved them too.
While I was scrapping on the Saturday Asher kept on asking me if she could scrap too. So after I had finished challenge 2 and had challenge 3 all layed out I gave her a pic of Reenie and some K and Co pet paper and this is what she did. I pretty much didn't do anything for her apart from cutting the papers to size and journal down the side what she wanted me too. Even the lines for me to write on were her idea.
While we were scrapping I couldn't help but laugh. She started talking about wanting to be the scrapping queen and of course I just had to put my foot down. She can't be the scrapping queen isn't that me. lol So she settled for the scrapping princess and Craig well he is the fidhing king as boys don'tlike scrapping.lol
Ok if you guys are still with me I'll quickly share some stuff that has happened this week.
1. I finally heard back from SC about my Cake and jumping don't mix page that they asked me to hold way back in January. Right now it is on my kitchen table ready to be posted tomorrow. So can't wait to see my first page in print.
2. I've also got my US scrappy pal from SB.com, Laura's cj here ready to be sent on it's final leg home. I heard today too that mine is one it's way home. So can't wait to see it when it arrives.
3.I got an email from Sara about my cj from the circle I am in one Scrapboxx. It too is on it's way home. So in the next few weeks two of my cj's will be home.
4.Over at Therapy Nat is starting up a make believe masters contest. It so sounds like fun.
Anyway I think that I've rambled on enough. Hope that you stayed around to the end. As usual thanks for popping by and for any comments and till next time happy scrapping.
