Cyber crop challenge items.

I was part of a cyber crop over the weekend and killed two birds with the one stone and used the papers from my inspiration squad pack from Scrappindipity for the page and the tag. I've always loved the photo on the layout and knew it was one that was going to be scrapped. I had gone out and brought some new stuff on Saturday and had a play with it. I've been wanting those MM foam swirly stamps for ages and finally got some.

I was going to upload my pics of my tag as well but having trouble with uploading images at the mo so I will leave it for another day.

My weekend.

I have done a bit of scrapping this weekend. 3 layouts, 1 for a photo swap and a tag. I joined in on a cc at one of my online sites and had fun doing the challenges. Haven't taken pics of them yet but will do so tomorrow.
My page here is one that I've been meaning to do for a while about Asher and her first boyfriend. There is journaling under the main photo of some of the things both her and Bailey have got planned for their lives as they are going to get married one day at Disneyland no less.

Asher was "not loving dancing" in her words this week and ended up sitting in the watching chair crying most of the time. She wanted to stay out with me but I thought if I let her out of it this time she would think she could do it all the time. Hopefully it was just an of day as she usually loves it.

Craig has put his back out helping a friend with some wood. He's a bit sore and sorry for himself at the moment. He is going to take a few days of work to try and rest it up a bit.

Anyway that's my weekend in a nut shell. Hoping to have a better week than I did last week.

Not a great week.

I got two phones calls this week with not very nice news. One telling me that one of Asher's kindy teachers last year had passed away from cancer and another one telling me that one of my friends from work who was about 20mths pregnant with twins had lost the babies. When I got the second lot of news I was at swimming with Asher and and it was so hard not to loose it. I was so upset when Asher had finished and she had picked up on it so I had to explain to her why. I pretty much said that the babies got sick and died. Not to sure just how much she understood as she hasn't said much about it. At work this week it hasn't been a happy place at all and I've never been so glad to see the end of my work week.

Sorry for the not happy news but I need to let it out I guess.

Well after a scrap filled weekend I managed to finish of my items with my design team pack from Steph's.
I had fun making my up my items with the Karen Foster paper and all the yummy extras.
On the layout the main photo opens up to show 4 more photo's of my daughter Asher and her toy story friends and the journaling talks about her love of the 2 movies and her friends brought for her by her grandparents on one of thier visits to Texas to visit my sister and family who had been working in the US for 4 1/2 years. I didn't have fun with doing the title on the layout though. There was a big rub on word 'laughter' in my pack and when I went to remove the backing the 'e' stayed put and try as I might I couldn't salvage it. So I ended up doing a mixed letter title for it. The quote is 'laughter is timeless, imagination has no age and dreams are forever' by Walt Disney which I why I ended up doing the page around Asher and her toy story pals. The little book on the left is to hold my scrap pals info cards from my online scrap buddies and when I had finished those it just happend that the quote on the card was still intact so to speak so I made that as well.
Anyway I've got dished to do as my housework fairy has gone awol yet again.
So it's bye from me for now.

I'm a part of a get published challenge on one of my scrapping sites and we have been given a few mini challenges to help us enhance our journaling. We have been asked to talk about our most embarassing moment so here it is.

My most embarassing moment.
Picture this. Sunny Sunday afternoon and Craig and I are walking hand in hand through the middle of Fremantle with good friends of ours Jim and Jane. Across the road from us a small group of young teens is causing a bit of a fuss very loudly. All of us were watching what was going on as we were walking along. The group walked off still a making heaps of noise and we noticed a couple of police officers had follwed them. I turned to look over my shoulder to see if I could see what was going on, Craig kept walking. So did I straight into a light pole. The noise of my head hitting the pole was so loud that now everyone was watching me and I had a sore head to match my red face.
Today when ever the subject comes up it always manages to make me and the others laugh.

I have recently made it onto my third design team and am totally wrapped. Being a two teams was my scrapping goal for the year but when my favourite local store was looking for members I wasn't going to pass it up. I was so excited when Steph handed me the envelope asking me to join her and the other members on the team.
I have started a blog as a part of the conditions on being on the team was that we didn't post our work onto online galleries{blogging is ok} and I have many scrapping friends that I like to share my work with both in real life and online.
Let me start by telling you all a little about me. I am 4o years old and have a husband{Craig} of 6 years and a daughter {Asher}who is 5. I have been scrapping now for about four years. I started out card making and stamping and was often heard to say that scrapping would never get to me but it has and it got me good. So good that I have called myself a scrapaholoic and have gotten the nickname scrapnut{thanks Martha} on one of my forums.
I recently went away for the weekend on a scrapping retreat, my first and definately the first of many. I had so much fun. I didn't get to do as much as I had hoped, too much chatting and coffee and not enough scrapping for me but I got away and that was the best part. My new page here Wild and crazy was, one that I was working on at the retreat but it just wasn't coming together so I put it away then pulled it out again after being inspired by an article in one of my many scrap mags about using pockets on layous and love how it turned out in the end.
Okay that's about it for me. Hopefully I will try and get back at least once a week. Twice if I'm lucky.
