New pages

Doggy pets is a layout I did with a sketch that I was given by Becky at page maps {link in side bar} for the September newsletter which comes out on the first. I also did it for a monthly contest over at Embellished to use bling and pink. I so love how it turned out. The three doggys in the main photo are three of Asher's many favorite doggy pets. Not a day goes by when she isn't playing with one or all of them and most school days of them has to sit on the back of the lounge looking out the window waiting for her to come home from school.

I was involved in a cyber crop over at Embellished on the weekend. We had two challenges to do both had to be based around the theme new. I did mine on Asher and how she is a new fan of the eagles.

The layout just wasn't coming together for me.
I made up the magnet to match for Craig's dad for father's day as well as one for Craig too.

The day after the big game when we were walking past a poster shop that had both the Eagles team pic and the Dockers one out front Asher walked up to the Eagles one and said they are the Eagles and did the same for the Dockers. She then turned to me and said "I'm a Docker like you now Mummy" I just laughed. Craig didn't though when I told him.

GOT SOME NEWS.

Posting twice in one night probably won't happen very often but I just had some news I want to share. I entered my Bailey page into a school themed layout challenge over at Designer diaries {in my links} and it was one of three winners.

I am definatley wrapped about it. The journaling, which is the most I've ever put on a page before, talks about Asher and her special friend Bailey and how they have both planned out their lives together. I've been told that they are going to get married one day, in Disney land no less.

Thanks to the girls over at DD for a great challenge. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us on the 1st.

Yeah they won.

The Dockers that is. I was scrapping some pics of Asher in her Eagles scarf durring the game and when ever I cheered for the Dockers she would break out into song singing the Eagles team song at the top of her voice. It was so funny that even Craig was having a chuckle over it.

Dreaming of U

This is a new page I did for Steph to put up on the wall in her shop. I used the KI letters and flower stickers for it. The photo was taken of me sitting on the rocks somewhere near Busselton on our honeymoon. We didn't know it at the time but I was about two weeks pregnant with Asher.

I was a part of cyber crop today. Have finished the challenges and will take a pic tomorrow. Not loving the layout though. May try and add or change something tonight.

Yet again this scrap nut has been busy. I finished this one off from my inspiration squad pack I got from Scrappindipity. I took it down today and Bec loved it. The pack had some yummy Wild A paper which is a new fav of mine. I also managed to do the layout for a weekly challenge on Embellished as well. The journaling talks about the fun I had watching Asher blowing her first pinwheel. The little clipboard has on it a message from me 'Asher may you always find delight in the simple things of life'. Thanks to J1 and Anthea over at Embellished I've recently been insipred to used buttons more on my pages. This is the second of three lately that I've used them on. I need to get myself a bigger collection of them. I may have to go and raid Mums buttons she's got heaps and she's never going to use them all. She's a sewer not a scrapper what could she possible want them for.

Hopefully I will be able to finish of another layout tonight for Steph to put up in her shop. I'm heading out to a friends place shortly to see if I can raid her blue button stash as I've not got enough here for what I want to do.

So looking foward to the big game and the mini cyber crop at Embellished tomorrow. I've already told Craig I'm not going anywhere and seeing as my computer and the TV are pretty much next to each other I will have a front row seat so to speak.

A house divided.

I tried so hard to convince Asher that she was a Docker to no avail. She is an Eagle fan just like her dad. This weekend both teams are playing against each other so it is going to be a house divided. I just wish it was in my favour.

They had a football day at school today and Asher wasn't going to leave her scarf that Craig had brought for her at home. I do hope that the Dockers are able to win and win well.

I finished this page for a sketch challenge on Embellished and a diffent challenge on Scrapbox. I'm trying to double up where I can so that I'm not trying to do too much. It didn't end up turning out just how I had it planned in my head but it is growing on me. The journaling talks about Asher's love of the swings and how she spends a lot of time playing on them and how my mum learnt the hard way never to try and remover her from one to go home. 20 mins after mum had picked her up from daycare a few years back and she was still screaming about having to leave it.

I'm working on another page at the moment and hopefully will get it finished tonight as I am doing it for one of my dt spots and another challenge as well. I hope to take it down there tomorrow and then I've got to do a card for my mum and another dt layout as well as have fun at a mini cyber crop on Sunday. I've got another scrappy weekend a head of me.

Book week dress up day.

It was dress up day at school today for book week and it was a cowboy theme for Asher's class so I pulled out a check shirt that was brought a while back for her assembly item, raided her dress up box for an old hat of mine, put her hair in two Jessie plaits, gave her some eyeliner freckles and with

Bullseye in tow we headed of to school.
What made this even more funnier was that all the way to school at he top of her voice Asher was doing her best Jessie impersonation right down to the boot stomping,arm waving and a yeahaa at the top of her voice.

I was trying so hard to get a photo of her doing this and ended up getting quiet a few photos and these are two of them.

We had some good news this week too. Craig had applied for an internal promotion at work and we found out yeaterday that he got it. It is going to involve Craig going to Tafe parttime

next year to do some studies of some sort. He did say what it was but for the life of me I can't remeber just what. He was a bit worried that going back to studying was going to be too much for him and I had a feeling that if he got offered it that he would say no because of that but he is going to give it a go.

Work for me is going to be a challenge in the next few weeks. We have had a few staff changes at work within the rooms and I am going to be working with Amanda now. I work as an untrained in a child care center and Amanda has recently got her training. She is a lovely person but she annoys the crap out of me. It's like I've got a shadow basically. I will put toys, books etc away at pack away time, turn aroumnd and there she is retidying what I've just put away. Or I will be in one room doing a painting activity with a small group of children she will come into the room rearange the painting items on the table,leaving children in the room where she was then wonders why I put the apron I was holding out for a child on the table said "you do it then" and walk out the room. Hey I know that I've not got the paperwork she has but I know I don't need it to supervise a painting activity or clean up after a sick child.

Ok I got that of my chest and just realised I've got an essay going here so it's bye from me for now.

Can I

My new page I finished late last night. The photo on the layout is of my 14mth old dd playing with a closed bottle of Jim bean. This is the layout I took to my dt crop but it just wasn't happening for me. I couldn't think up a title that really grabbed me. In the end I did and love how it has turned out.

I'm working on a layout for the page maps newsletter. Nearly finished. I will post it when the newsletter has gone out. Asher has got a love of dogs at the moment and has a collection of toy ones at home. So I did a doggy photo shot a while back of three of her favorite ones and took a photo of one of them sitting on the back of the lounge looking out our front window where she left her when she went to school. It is coming along great. Just the final touches and it will be done.

I'm quiet proud of myself today as I've managed to do my housework,shopping and most of my washing. Pity my housework fary has gone awol as it is only going to be messy again soon. If anyone see her at all plese send her home ASAP.

GOTTA HAVE BLING

My new page. I finished it of last night at a dt crop at Steph's where we all got together and met up, some of the girls I had met before some I hadn't. I had fun chatting and scrapping.

The pic in my latest is of Asher when we got home from having her ears pierced when she was about 10 mths old. The arrow on the layout points to her earing.

I had a hard time coming up with a title for another layout I was working on last night. I kept on moving paper,letters,flowers,photo around and getting no where. I finally finished it late this afternoon and will post tomorrow.

I went up to a big sale today with my partner in crime Jane. We go up every year, mainly for the pre loved side of it. Where stampers/scrappers can have a small table set up to sell some of thier old stuff. Got a couple of stamps and a few things from the shop. Didn't do as much damage as I did last year though.

Better go as I got a big mess to clean up.

What a day.

After Asher not well yesterday it is my turn today. She was back at school thank goodness and I felt like crap all day. I've got a real sore throat,hurts to swallow and my ears are aching on and of too. Will see how I go over the weekend but may have to visit the doctor on Monday if it hasn't eased any. I hate doctors and I don't go unless I really have to.

I started a page last night for a sketch challenge on the box and finished it of today.

I've been wanting to scrap these pics for a while now and seeing as my printer has ran out of ink and dh has kept on forgetting to pick some up after work all week I had to go with some ready printed pics. One of my friends on sb.com commented on that fact that I took the camera to the dentist. I had to laugh as my camera lives in my bag. Where I go it goes.

I've also working on a sketch challenge for embellished using a pic of Asher taken after she had her ears pierced when she was about 10 mths old. I'm slowly getting to some of my older pics. I scrap what ever tickles my fancy at the time. I am so far behind I guess it doesn't matter if I scrap baby pics then some of this years as it isn't likely I will ever catch up on my scrapping. Not being the camera clicking scrapnut that I am.

I've got my first dt crop at Steph's tomorrow night. I am so looking forward to it. Just got to sort what I'm going to take with me. Hopefully dh will get some ink tomorrow. I may end up trying to put something together for the sketch I've been given by Becky at page maps for the next newsletter.

Well this new blogger has fianlly worked out her banner. Not quiet the way I hoped it would look but it is there. Was hoping to have it spread right across the top of the page. Will work on that later. Right now I've got to get up and move as for sitting on my behind for a few hours trying to get it right it has now gone numb.

Well I soted out my side bar problem and tried to add a photo banner across the top only to end up with another problem. Oh well. I've put up a call for help on the blogger site so hopefully someone will come to my rescue.

Well I was all excited about working out how to add my slide show until I checked out my blog this morning to find out that I now how have side link bar at all. I'm guessing I added or took out something I shouldn't have so if anyone has some idea of what maybe wrong I would be very grateful for any help. I think I may just remove my slide show and then try to add it again to see if that helps.


DD not well so home today as I thought she would be. So it will be a quiet day at home for her most probably in front of the TV.

Wow I finally manged to work out my slide show. Now to work out if I need to move it or not to have it up at the top of my blog.

Asher has a temp tonight so I hope she will be ok tomorrow. She isn't often sick so when she is I worry but then that's me. A worrier. And if she is sick I will be at home with her and not at work so I may even be able to scrap a little.

Work is going through another of it's yuk phases. A few of the girls have had issues with the new co-ordinator. I'm not going to be surprised if at least two of them leave by the end of the year. If I didn't have to work I probably wouldn't be there either. Oh well I have to so they are stuck with me. I've often been asked why I don't try and get something closer to home as I work about 30 minutes away from home and Child care centers are always looking for staff but I work in one of the better ones around and if I was to leave there it wouldn't be to go to another center I would be leaving childcare altogether.

Still no word from FK about the layouts I subbed. Oh well I will keep trying and it is bound to happen one day. Just wish that one day ould come sooner or rather than later.

I'm of to my ffirst dt crop at Steph's on Saturday. Going to be fun to get away and scrap even if it is just for a few hours.

I am a part of a layout challenge with a group of my aussie friends on scrabook.com to scrap a layout with pics of some of the girls. We all had the same pics and this is what I came up with. I was pulling my hair out trying to get it to work but love the end result.

It just so happend that after I signed up for the challenge I got my first challenge asigment from Arty Pantz. To do a page with six or more pics so I ended up doing the page for both so to speak. Wish me luck as I also subbed it to FK as with my Lorrie page for a scrapping friends page call.

A group of my friends from sb.com have started up a blog called Designer diaries. I've added the link in my links section. Check it out as I'm sure it will be fun.

I've also recently come across page maps too. I've added that link as well. I was checking out thier sketches a while back when I realised that one we were given to use as a part of a cyber crop challenge was one of thiers so sent it in. I got a nice email this morning asking me to do a page using one of the new sketches for the September news letter. Can't wait to work on it but it will have to wait till the weekend.

New pages

I've had another scrappy weekend. I finally got around to do one of my pages which I intend to sub to a mag for thier scrapping friends page call. This page is of Lorrie a new friend from embellished who always manages to make me smile and is on my ever growing list of on-line scrapper friends who one day I would like to meet.

I spent a bit of time sewing beads into the center of the three cut out flowers. It took me a while but was worth it.

I joined in on a cyber crop at Embellished and had fun as usual. We had three challenges to do over the weekend.

This one took some time to do but I had fun doing it.

This one drove me nuts but love the final result. I ended up having to use the original photo's as they didn't scan all that well.

Material challenge

We had to use material in some way on whatever we liked. I decided to alter my doodle diary. A notebook where I practice my doodling.

I stuck some one sided jac paper to the back of the material then cut the flowers out with my sizzix.

Of the three projects I'm not all that fussed on this one.

I met up with Anthea and her two boys on Friday at the fun station. They all had a blast. I tired my hardest to get a good pic of Asher going down the slide but I got a better one of Josh as Asher kept coming down the slide on her tummy.

First big bike ride.

I've been meaning to post these pics for a few weeks now so here they are. Asher got her bike for her birthday and enjoys riding it around the yard. We packed it into the car a few weeks back and drove of to the park. At first all she wanted to do was play on the equipment but we managed to convince her to have a ride first, or go home. Hey I know it's bribery but it works and works well.

She was a little unsure about the little slopes on the path, espeacially the down ones but after the first when she got to the next ones she squealed with delight.

After her half a lap around the park we let here have a play and she had a ball. Asher always manages to have fun whenever we get to go to the park.

I've got a weekend of scrapping ahead of me and I can't wait. My weekend starts tonight so I'me going to be scrapping as soon as I get my but of this here chair.

Having a bit of a play around with my blog and just adding a pic here so that I can add one to my profile. I hope that I manage to get this to work. Next thing on the to do to blog list would be to work out how to add my own links and then some of the nice banners and slideshows I've seen on some other blogs. Wish me luck as I think I'm going to need it.

Pirate fun

I was a part of a challenge on one of my sites where you were given a link to a site where you put in your name and then given a pirate one. We then had to do a page around your name and talk up a storm in pirate chatter in one of the threads. I had a blast.

I also had some good news yesterday. My wild and crazy page below which I did for a sketch challenge on the same site that drove me crazy for about two weeks before finally liking the end result won the challenge.

I've had a scrappy weekend again. My dh likes to go out fishing so when he does I scrap. He also likes to play computer games as well as his guitar so when he is doing that, which has been a lot lately, I scrap. I managed to do a double page for my aussie cj, a scrap info card for a friend, my challenge page and start on my pages in my american cj. My american cj is a through the looking glass, Alice in wonderland, theme. I had to think hard about just how I would do my pages and I did it around my usual answer to a question I've been asked several times durring my life. "If I could live my life again". I don't think dh was all that thrilled at my answer as I wouldn't change anything if I could do it all again and seeing as he is dh number 2 I think he was a bit put out. Back to work on my cj. I won't be posting any of them on my blog as my fellow cjer's sometimes check in and I'm wanting what I do for them and them for me to be a surprise.

My surprise.

Was that my friend had brought some new sizzix dies. We often get together and scrap so with her bigshot and my sizzix we've got a few dies between us. Her new one is of six shaped tags. Some flowers and others luggage tags so I had fun cutting up some chipboard and having used her bigshot for the first time last night it sure is easier doing chipboard in it than the sizzix.

One more day of work and then I can get into some more scrapping.
